Why does my backyard flood?
Low spots can collect runoff from several directions. Note how quickly the yard drains after rain and which areas stay wet. A site assessment can distinguish a surface-routing issue from a subsurface-drainage need.
What to look for.
- Where does water collect and how long does it remain?
- Does water flow toward the building or adjoining property?
- Is there an appropriate, permitted discharge destination?
Observe only from a safe place. Do not touch electrical equipment in wet areas or climb onto a wet roof.
